We ask you to consider how your worship appears, if considered in the same Spirit which gave forth these passages of scripture:

1 Samuel 15:22.

“Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”

1 Kings 19:12.

“And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.”

Psalm 25:4,5.

“Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.”

Psalm 27:14.

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”

Psalm 37:7.

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1,7.

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven…a time to keep silence and a time to speak.”

Isaiah 40:31.

“They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.”

Isaiah 61:1.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek.”

Isaiah 66:1-3.

Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; Where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.”

Jeremiah 23:18.

“For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? Who hath marked his word and heard it?”

Lamentations 3:25,26.

“The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.”

Joel 2:28.

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”

Amos 5:21-24.

“I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.”

Micah 4:5.

“…we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.”

Habakkuk 2:20.

“But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.”

Zephaniah 1:7.

“Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.”

Zechariah 2:13.

“Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD; for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.”

Matthew 3:11.

“…he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear; he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.”

Matthew 6:33.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Matthew 25:13.

“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”

Mark 1:15

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

John 4:23,24.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

John 6:51.

“I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever.”

Romans 1:25.

“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator.”

Romans 2:29.

“But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men but of God.”

Romans 8:26,27

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

Romans 12:6,7.

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching.”

1 Corinthians 1:18.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

1 Corinthians 3:16.

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you.”

1 Corinthians 4:20.

“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.”

1 Corinthians14:29-33.

“Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. If anything be revealed to one that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. And the spirit of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.”

2 Corinthians 6:16.

“What agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

2 Corinthians 13:5.

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates.”

Ephesians 5:19.

“Singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”

Philippians 2:12.

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

1 Thessalonians 1:9,10.

“…how ye turned from idols to serve the living and true God: And to wait for his Son from heaven…”

James 1:19.
